Florida MedConnect Celebrates a Milestone Achievement

This conference marked a significant day for Florida MedConnect, showcasing the culmination of months of hard work and dedication, resulting in a clear and utter success. The past six months have been pivotal in FMC's history, as the organization was founded and now celebrates the successful presentations of our inaugural cohort. 

Five groups from across the nation embarked on their undergraduate research journey two months ago, culminating in the presentation of their efforts. A key focus has been the role of STAT3, a critical component of Dr. Gomez's research. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully conducted research and produced posters exemplifying this through five literature reviews, each covering the role of STAT3 in a different disease: Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Alzheimer's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Multiple Sclerosis, and Huntington's Disease. 

We extend our gratitude to our first authors, Elaine Pan, Tilak Kumar, Nikhil Chainani, Rishith Vadlamani, and Nitin Krishna, for their dedication to the project, as well as their exceptional groups who made this achievement possible. 

For FMC, this is just the beginning.
